Throughout my career, I’ve been guided by Aristotle’s timeless wisdom: “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.” This principle has shaped my approach to life and work, driving me to pursue excellence through dedication, passion, and a commitment to continuous learning and growth.

My journey in the fashion industry began at Thierry Mugler, where I had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the artistry and skill that go into creating each garment. Under Mugler’s mentorship, I honed my craft in draping, pattern making, sewing and garment quality standards for Ready-to-Wear (RTW). Additionally, I delved into the world of haute couture, mastering intricate techniques such as corsetry, embroidery, and millinery, pushing the boundaries of possibility and creativity.

Building on this foundation, I ventured to Madrid to join Agatha Ruiz de la Prada’s studio as Studio Director. Here, I led teams across various categories, from Women’s RTW to home and children’s wear, collaborating with diverse talent to bring the brand’s vision to life. Working closely with factories, product development teams, and fabric specialists, I gained invaluable insights into the intricacies of product development and commercialization.
A pivotal moment in my career came when I was invited to participate in a program for emerging designers at the Madrid Mercedes Fashion Week. This opportunity marked the genesis of Jose Miro, where I served as Chief Creative Officer (CCO). Over the years we crafted 22 collections that garnered international acclaim, gracing the pages of prestigious publications like Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. Our bespoke couture pieces captivated discerning clientele in Ginza, Japan. First designer to win twice the L’Oreal Award Best Emerging Designer Collection or special collaborations with brands like Swarovski and Nike showcased our versatility and innovation.

Amidst the whirlwind of creating and collaborating, I remained steadfast in my commitment to personal growth and knowledge sharing. Whether through teaching at esteemed institutions like The Fashion Institute of Technology in NY or presenting at industry conferences, I’ve always embraced opportunities to both impart and receive wisdom. These experiences have not only enriched my own understanding but also reinforced my belief in the reciprocal nature of learning and mentorship.

As the fashion landscape evolved, so did my career trajectory. The challenges of the 2008 crisis prompted a period of reflection and reinvention, leading me to explore new horizons in corporate business and Menswear RTW. At Coach, I spearheaded the establishment of the Menswear Technical Team and played a pivotal role in launching the brands inaugural menswear collection. Here I deepened my expertise in seasonal planning, fit alignment, and supply chain management. Skills that would prove invaluable in my subsequent role as Studio Director at Bode, where sustainability and innovation took the center stage.

Thirty years in the fashion industry have taught me two fundamentals’ truths: adaptability is key, and the joy of the present moment is paramount. In an ever-changing landscape, success lies in our ability to evolve with the times while remaining grounded in our passion and purpose. Looking ahead, I am committed to embracing the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, guided by a steadfast dedication to excellence and profound appreciation for the beauty of the now.
